Port Scanner
Scans a host for open TCP or UDP ports from our server. Pick from common ports (HTTP, SSH, RDP, and more) or enter a custom one; each port is reported as open, closed, or unreachable.
Frequently asked questions
- Is port scanning legal?
- Scanning networks you own is always legal. Scanning networks you do not own may violate laws (e.g. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act in the US) or your ISP's terms of service. Use this only on systems you are authorized to test.
- What does "filtered" mean vs "closed"?
- Closed means the target actively refused the connection. Filtered usually means a firewall dropped the packet silently. Both mean the port is not usable from outside.
- Why can I not scan certain hosts?
- The scanner is rate-limited, and some providers (including our Africa mirror) block port scans entirely for abuse prevention.
